Kulmiye Party has expelled several of its top officials in the latest purge carried out a few days after the party’s General Assembly ended.
Many of those kicked out of office had served the party for ages.
Nevertheless, the official list of the party’s new officials, especially members of the central committee, is yet to be released.
Among those kicked out were several officials elected into office during President Ahmed Mohamed Mohamoud Silanyo’s tenure.
President Silanyo headed the party and led the country from 2010 to 2017.
Reasons for expelling the officials remain sketchy and quite scanty. None of them has resigned or retired.
Some of the names of the purged officials floating around include Mahmud Hashi Abdi, Mohamed Ibrahim Adan Qabo, Abdi Du’ale, and Shuid Mohamed Muse among others.
