Somalis Facing Xenophobic Attacks in Turkey

Somalis are currently grappling with xenophobic attacks in Turkey.

The International Forum for Rights and Security (IFFRAS), a Canadian-based think-tank, has published data indicating that Somalis in Turkey are victims of xenophobia.

IFFRAS reported that Turkey has never been interested in Somalia’s development.

Instead, the international think-tank states that Turkey, especially under President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, supports Somalia selfishly.

Media outlets in Turkey constantly refer to the increased number of Somali banks, restaurants, barbershops, markets, and hairdressing stores in the country.

Many of these media outlets publish articles alleging that Ankara is now a Somali hub.
