Somalis returning from Sudan require urgent mental health services.
Mariam Yassin briefed Dr. Mamunur Rahman Malik on this when they met on Thursday.
Yassin is the Special Presidential Envoy for Migration, Returns, and Children’s Rights.
She held discussions with Dr, Malik, who is the World Health Organization (WHO) Representative for Somalia, on wide-ranging issues pertaining to migrants issues.
They both spoke about the challenges Somalis who returned from wartorn Sudan go through.
Yassin and Dr. Malik agreed that the mental health challenges the returnees face require urgent yet effective solutions.
