SomBank will work closely with MasterCard to launch the latest debit card in Somalia.
The new debit card would enable the bank, which has established itself as one of Somalia’s most innovative financial institutions, to provide digital payment solutions.
Furthermore, SomBank would be able to provide and accept payments made via MasterCard.
The new card would be known as SomBank Card. It would offer customers a payment solution that is not only safe but also secure and reliable for all sorts of transactions.
Initially, around 100,000 SomBank customers would have access to SomBank in 2023.
Abdullahi Aden and Sheryar Ali signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.
Aden is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of SomBank while Ali is the MasterCard Country Manager for East Africa.
