Sool and Sanaag Farmers Receive 10 Metric Tons of Seeds from FAO

Farmers from Sool and Sanaag have received 10 metric tons of seeds from the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Somalia.

FAO donated the seeds over the course of a few weeks.

According to FAO, the seeds should help farmers prepare for the upcoming seasonal rains, which are expected in the next few days.

Recently, Intergovernmental Authority on Development Climate Prediction and Applications Center (ICPAC) announced that Somalia will receive heavy rainfall.

ICPAC announced that the heavy rainfall should descend in the East African nation within the next 10 weeks.

Apart from the seeds, FAO also assisted the farming community in the two regions with 5,022 tillage hours.

Netherlands funded the entire exercise through its Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
