Authorities in the regional state of Southwest have arrested the mastermind behind the recent terror attack in Baidoa.
Southwest State’s President Abdiaziz Mohamed Laftagareen announced the breakthrough in the ongoing investigations on August 1.
He was speaking during an interview with British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) Somali Service.
On Friday last week, a terror attack in Baidoa, the administrative capital of the Southwest State, killed the regional Minister of Justice, Sheikh Hassan Ibrahim Lugbuur.
Lugbuur’s son also died in the deadly attack.
In the Monday interview, President Laftagareen expressed hopes that security officers would arrest more Al-Shabaab militants who planned or carried out the deadly attack.
