Security officials in Somalia’s Southwest state said that they successfully repelled an Al-Shabaab attack on a military camp in the Maanya-fuulka area near Baidoa, the capital of the Baay region.
Authorities confirmed that several militants were killed in the clash, including at least one foreign fighter.
However, multiple security sources told local journalists that the regional forces also suffered casualties, with a senior officer and several soldiers among those killed.
