The regional state of Southwest has announced the schedule for conducting fresh elections for a local federal parliamentary seat.
Federal Elections Implementation Team (FEIT) recently canceled the results of the elections held for HOP#154.
FEIT cited contravention of electoral procedures as the reason for canceling the results.
Apparently, one of the contestants in the earlier polls had been underage.
Southwest’s State Elections Implementation Team (SEIT) published the schedule for repeat elections on April 20.
Initially, SEIT had declared Saredo Mohamed Abdalla victorious.
On Wednesday, the federal electoral body issued certificates of candidacy to Abdalla and Nasteho Mohamed Yusuf.
The repeat polls would now take place on Friday, April 22.
