Fahima Omar, the Minister of Women and Human Rights in the semiautonomous region of Southwest State, has urged more Somali women to take part in the nation’s politics.
Omar was speaking during this week’s Tubta Nabadda, an initiative of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNSOM).
During this week’s edition, Asha Siyad from the Somali Women’s Leadership Initiatives joined Omar.
Both Omar and Siyad agreed that it is vital to encourage more Somali women to take the initiative and participate in national politics.
Omar and Siyad were discussing women’s inclusion and participation in national politics and the decision-making areas of influence.
