The President of the regional state of Southwest held discussions with the United Nations Chief of Humanitarian Affairs in Baidoa.
Southwest’s President Abdiaziz Hassan Mohamed Laftagareen held a meeting with Martin Griffiths on Saturday, September 3.
The meeting took place in Baidoa, the administrative capital of the Southwest state.
Afterward, Laftgareen stated that his meeting with the Griffiths-led delegation from the UN focused on drought-related issues.
He also said that the UN promised to work closely with his administration to assist communities affected the most by the ongoing drought.
Regional ministers from Southwest state attended the meeting.
