The regional state of Southwest plans to hold elections for six parliamentary seats on January 31.
Southwest’s State Elections Implementation Team (SEIT) announced this on Tuesday, January 25.
Out of the six seats, three would be reserved specifically for women, as part of Southwest’s commitment to the 30 percent women quota.
The region’s SEIT listed the seats that would be up for elections as HOP#005, HOP#033, HOP#052, HOP#088, HOP#097, and HOP#098.
The polls would be for Members of Parliament (MPs) that would represent Southwest in the House of the People (Lower House).
