Somalia’s Southwest State is to hold elections for the remaining seats on Sunday, August 15.
Southwest’s President Abdiaziz Hassan Mohamed Laftagareen announced plans to hold the last bit of elections on Friday.
A press statement from Laftagareen’s office indicated that the elections would be for the three remaining Upper House seats.
Southwest held the senatorial elections for several of the seats last week.
It was the second Federal Member State (FMS) to do so after Jubaland.
Thus far, only one regional state – Puntland – has held elections for all its Upper House seats.
