Southwest regional state will proceed with elections for the HOP#103 and other three seats.
On November 27, the Southwest elections commission announced that the elections would proceed as expected.
Initially, there had been reports that the Federal Elections Implementation Team (FEIT) had suspended elections for the HOP#103 seat.
One of the candidates for the seat, ex-Speaker of the House of the People (Lower House) Mohamed Osman Jawari, had labeled the elections “unfair and lacking in transparency.”
A few hours later, the Southwest commission stated categorically that the polls would take place on November 28, as initially planned.
Cumulatively, delegates would get a chance to elect four new Members of Parliament (MPs) to represent the regional state in the federal parliament.
