The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs in the regional state of Southwest chaired a meeting on drought response.
Abdinasir Abdi Arush, the humanitarian affairs minister, chaired the meeting on July 19.
Arush chaired the meeting on Southwest’s Drought Emergency Response Cell.
Discussions on improving the framework for the technical operations of the cell also took place during the meeting.
Arush led the meeting in agreeing to improve coordination mechanism in the ongoing drought response efforts in Southwest.
The region is one of the worst hit by the ongoing drought in Somalia.
