Officials from the regional state of Southwest briefed delegations from the World Food Programme (WFP) and United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) on the scale of drought.
The Southwest officials held a meeting with representatives of the two global organizations in Baidoa on Wednesday, September 7.
Southwest officials updated their guests from WFP and UNICEF on the scale of the ongoing drought in the country.
They also provided more information on the measures taken and needed to mitigate the effect of the drought and the resultant humanitarian crisis.
