Recently, the board members of the newly established Somali Petroleum Authority (SPA) were trained on oil and gas management.
The training, which took place on August 31, was designed to enable the board members to acquire crucial skills.
They were all trained in Istanbul, the capital of Turkey.
Additionally, reports from the training indicate that the board members were brought up to speed on the regulations governing the oil/gas industry.
SPA was established through the Petroleum Law, which was ratified on February 8, 2020.
In July 2020, the Council of Ministers approved the regulator’s board members while appointing Ibrahim Ali Hussein as its first Chief Executive Officer and Chairman.
All the organization’s board members traveled to Turkey for the training.
