Speaker Madobe Visits Xudur to Boost State-Federal Cooperation

Xudur, Somalia – Speaker of the Federal Parliament of Somalia, Sheikh Adan Mohamed Nur Madobe, arrived in Xudur, the capital of Bakool region, on Wednesday, leading a high-level federal delegation comprising ministers and members of parliament.

Upon arrival, Speaker Madobe was warmly received by the President of Southwest State, Abdiaziz Hassan Mohamed Laftagareen, along with regional officials, traditional elders, youth, and members of the local community.

The visit is seen as a critical step in strengthening the relationship between federal institutions and regional administrations.

During his visit, Speaker Madobe emphasized the importance of unity, reconciliation, and inclusive governance in advancing Somalia’s state-building process.

He reiterated the Federal Parliament’s commitment to supporting regions affected by conflict and drought, and to accelerating service delivery and stabilization efforts in liberated areas.

President Laftagareen welcomed the Speaker’s visit as a show of solidarity with the people of Bakool, a region long burdened by insecurity and humanitarian crises.

He noted that the delegation’s presence reflects a renewed federal focus on development, security, and political collaboration with member states.

The visit also included meetings with local leaders to discuss ongoing security operations against Al-Shabaab, the urgent need for humanitarian support, and the role of traditional elders in peacebuilding.

Speaker Madobe’s visit to Xudur comes amid wider efforts to foster national unity and ensure that all regions play a meaningful role in shaping Somalia’s political future.
