Somalia’s Special Envoy for Drought Response held talks with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Regional Director for East and Horn of Africa.
The talks between Abdirahman Abdishakur and Amira Bieber took place in Mogadishu on Saturday, June 18.
Abdishakur has been holding discussions with various stakeholders since President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud appointed him the Special Envoy for Drought Response last month.
His discussions with Bieber focused on possible avenues for reducing the impact of climate shocks in the country.
Further, they discussed ways of saving lives as the ongoing drought continues to bite while killing humans, crops, and livestock too.
