The Special Envoy for Drought Response held discussions with diplomats from the United States and the United Kingdom.
Abdirahman Abdishakur, the Special Envoy for Drought Response, held discussions with Ambassador Larry Andre and Ambassador Kate Foster.
Andre and Foster are the US Ambassador to Somalia and UK Ambassador to Somalia respectively.
Their meeting took place in Mogadishu on Sunday, August 7.
Abdishakur and the two diplomats discussed several issues pertaining to Somalia. Mostly, they spoke about the need for urgent relief for people affected by the ongoing drought.
The Special Envoy for Drought Response urged the two diplomats to advocate for a concerted response to the existing situation at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) next month.
