Abdirahman Abdishakur, the Special Envoy for Drought Response, traveled to Gedo in the regional state of Jubbaland.
Abdishakur arrived in the region on Monday, June 20.
An official communiqué from his office indicates that he traveled to Gedo’s Dolow district to check the humanitarian needs.
The district is one of the worst-affected areas by the ongoing drought in the region.
Abdishakur has already held talks with various stakeholders to find solutions for the humanitarian crisis.
