Somalia’s Special Envoy for Drought Response visited several camps for internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Garowe.
Abdirahman Abdishakur, the Special Envoy for Drought Response, visited the camps on Saturday, July 16.
He said the visit was to enable him to evaluate the impact of the ongoing drought on the community.
Abdishakur said that the IDPs at the various camps he visited are in dire need of food and water.
Moreover, he called for emergency life-saving assistance to the IDPs at the camps and the surrounding communities too.
The Special Envoy for Drought Response urged stakeholders to contribute more funds to help the drought response campaign in Somalia.
