The Special Presidential Envoy for Drought Response briefed the World Bank Spring Meeting Event on food security in Somalia.
Special Envoy Abdirahman Abdishakur updated his fellow participants in the event on the current situation regarding food security in the East African nation.
He spoke on the benefits and opportunities that Somalia brings to the table too.
Abdishakur listed some of these as the untapped mineral resources in the country as well as the entrepreneurial spirit of its people.
Furthermore, he listed the vibrant diaspora community that contributes up to $2 billion to the country’s economy annually.
