The Minister of Youth and Sports in the Federal Government of Somalia launched a youth tournament at Mogadishu Stadium.
Khadija M. Diriye, the minister in charge of the youth and sports docket, launched the tourney on Wednesday.
Mogadishu Stadium, which was recently renovated from joint funding by the government and international partners, holds its first competition this week.
The stadium has been in a deplorable state for around three decades since civil war broke out in the country during the 1990s.
During the launching ceremony that took place on the afternoon of September 2, Diriye urged more youths to take up sports, which is a meaningful activity.
