SSC-Khaatumo will remain part of the regional state of Puntland.
President Said Abdullahi Deni of Puntland made this declaration on Friday.
Deni made this declaration in the wake of Abdulqadir Firdhiye’s visit to Mogadishu.
Firdhiye is the leader of SSC-Khaatumo.
He held talks with several Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) leaders during his visit.
Firdhiye had stated that SSC-Khaatumo would not participate in the upcoming Puntland polls.
Deni asserted that SSC-Khaatumo has an important role to play in Puntland.
The Puntland leader added that SSC-Khaatumo will get the seat of the Vice President of Puntland.
