SSC-Khaatumo Urges Puntland Leaders to Resolve Elections Dispute

The leadership of SSC-Khaatumo called upon their Puntland colleagues to resolve the elections dispute.

Ahmed Aw-Ali Firdhiye, the leader of the SSC-Khaatumo administration, asked Puntland’s President Said Abdullahi Deni to resolve his differences with the opposition.

Puntland opposition politicians have continuously accused President Deni of planning to extend his term in office.

They believe that Deni wants the upcoming elections postponed to allow him to continue in office.

On Sunday, Firdhiye asked Deni and other politicians to embrace dialogue as a solution for their row.

He called on traditional elders in Garowe too to step in and call the leaders to order.

Firdhiye added that the elders can prevent further escalation of the issue into a conflict that impedes the region’s democracy.
