SSC-Khaatumo has announced its intention to operate as a separate state from Puntland.
Leaders of the SSC-Khaatumo administration refused calls by Puntland authorities for the two to remain as one.
Meeting on Saturday, members of the SSC-Khaatumo administration added that none of its candidates would vie in the upcoming Puntland elections.
They mentioned that none of their members would vie for the seat of the Vice President of Puntland.
Additionally, they called upon those from SSC-Khaatumo serving in the Disputes Resolution Commission to resign.
SSC-Khaatumo leaders vowed not to approve or send any of their members to the regional Puntland parliament.
