State Minister in the Ministry of Defense, Omar Ali Abdi, has called for increased support for Somalia’s counterterrorism operations by the European Union (EU).
He made this call during his recent meeting with EU Deputy Managing Director for Africa, Mathieu Briens, and EU Somalia Ambassador, Karin Johansson, at the General Dhaga Badan Academy.
The meeting focused on strengthening support for the Somali National Army’s efforts in combating terrorism.
During the meeting, the EU committed to providing advanced counter-IED equipment to enhance security in Somalia.
