Strong Winds Destroy Shelter for IDPs Near Kismayo

Strong winds have destroyed shelter for internally displaced persons (IDPs) near Kismayo.

Reports from the region indicate that several houses at El-Jalle IDP camps lie in ruins following strong winds that swept through the area recently.

The camp is in Luglow, which stands 25kms to the west of Kismayo.

The houses destroyed were part of a project that the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) put up in the region a few months ago.

Women and their children now sleep under the open heavens without any protection.
