Somalis in the country continue to endure increased suffering as reports of non-functioning boreholes emerge.
On April 19, it emerged that 159 strategic boreholes in the East African nation are currently not functioning.
According to experts, the inability of the strategic boreholes to function is a direct result of low yields and limited access to fuel.
Consequently, WASH Cluster Somalia has urged all its partners to prioritize the rehabilitation of the non-functioning boreholes.
The problem compounds the suffering of the people of Somalia.
Citizens in this Horn of Africa country are currently in the middle of one of the worst droughts of the last 40 years.
