A suspect in the murder of a high school student has been arrested in Mogadishu.
Police arrested Jeilani Aden Abadir in the nation’s capital on Wednesday, August 18.
Abadir is a suspect in the murder of Hibo Khamis, a student who had recently graduated from a Mogadishu high school.
Khamis was stabbed to death in the Elasha Biyaha neighborhood on Tuesday.
Police launched investigations into the murder immediately to identify and arrest the person responsible for killing her.
Khamis had just learned that she passed the recent National Unified Secondary School Examinations.
According to Col. Yasin Nur Kheire, Abadir’s arrest followed close cooperation between the police and local residents.
Col. Kheire is the Commander of the West Division Police.
