Suspected Al-Shabaab Extremists Arrested Along Kenya-Somalia Border

Suspected Al-Shabaab extremists were arrested along Somalia’s border with Kenya.

Kenyan police officers arrested the two militants on March 5.

The two men are now in police custody helping authorities with their investigations into activities of the militia group.

Police sources revealed that the two were arrested during a security operation carried out in Garissa County.

Boaz Cherutich, the Garissa County Commissioner, added that security officers recovered a cache of weapons from the militants.

These included 3 firearms, 5 magazines, and 98 bullets.

Cherutich stated that the two extremists would be arraigned before the court in the next few days once authorities complete investigations on the matter.
