Suspected members of Al-Shabaab group attacked a patrol base in Garissa on December 2.
Security authorities in the region confirmed the news to the media on Wednesday morning.
According to the authorities, the incident took place in Kenya’s Garissa County at Amuma Patrol Base.
Afterward, it was reported that one of the police officers on duty at the patrol base was injured while the whereabouts of another one remain unknown.
The region is prone to sporadic attacks by members of the Al-Qaeda linked militia group.
They are notorious for carrying out attacks then fleeing back to Somalia to evade possible arrest by Kenyan authorities.
