Sweden remains committed to the peace and prosperity of Somalia.
This emerged on Thursday during a meeting between Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre and Ambassador Joachim Waern.
Prime Minister Barre and Amb. Waern met in Mogadishu.
They acknowledged the fruitful and historic relations between Somalia and Sweden that have lasted several years.
Barre announced that Sweden was now willing to recommit to strategic investments that promote peace and prosperity in Somalia.
Waern, the Swedish Ambassador to Somalia, reiterated his government’s readiness to back Somalia-owned initiatives.
Sweden also pledged to increase its contributions to the Towards Peace and Stability in Somalia (TPSS) Fund.
