The Swedish National Border Police Immigration Liaison Officers recently conducted a specialized training course in Mogadishu aimed at building the forensic capabilities of the Somali Police Force’s Criminal Investigation Division (CID).
The course focused on basic crime scene investigation techniques, equipping Somali officers with essential skills to effectively preserve, document, and analyze evidence from crime scenes.
This initiative is part of ongoing international support to strengthen Somalia’s law enforcement and justice sector.
By providing foundational training in forensic science, the Swedish officers are contributing to the development of a more professional and effective criminal justice system in Somalia.
Participants gained practical knowledge in crime scene management, evidence collection and preservation, and basic investigative procedures, which are vital for ensuring accurate and credible criminal investigations.
The collaboration reflects a shared commitment to enhancing the rule of law, improving public safety, and fostering international cooperation in combatting crime and insecurity.
