The Swiss delegation comprised Ambassador Manuel Bessler and Ambassador Valentin Zellweger.
Ambassador Bessler is the Head of the Swiss Humanitarian Aid Unit while Zellweger is the Swiss Ambassador to Somalia.
The Swiss officials spent time with Abdirahman Abdishakur Warsame, the Special Envoy for Drought Response on Friday, September 9 discussing various issues.
Primarily, their discussions centered around the ongoing drought in Somalia.
They agreed that an urgent response to the severe drought in Somalia is a matter of priority.
They also spoke of the recovery measures post-drought.
During the meeting, Warsame and the Swiss delegation agreed to identify durable solutions and development activities.
