The family of the teenage girl who had been raped and thrown out of a building in Mogadishu announced that she was waiting to join university after passing her high school examinations.
On Friday, a 19-year old girl identified as Hamdi Mohamed Farah was allegedly raped by a gang of six men after one of her male friends invited her to a building in Waberi district.
Later, she was thrown out of the building.
Hamdi died from the serious injuries sustained during the ordeal. She was then laid to rest in a local cemetery in the capital.
Local authorities have launched investigations into the matter after residents took to the streets to protest the shocking deed.
Relatives said that they received a phone call between 2-3pm informing them that Hamdi had been “raped and killed.”
Further, they described her as not only diligent but also a hardworking girl.
Hamdi passed the recently released high school exams well and her family was proud of her academic achievements.
