Tens of Somalis remain unaccounted for in the recent earthquake in Turkey.
Thus far, more than 28,000 have died in the 7.8 magnitude earthquake that rocked Turkey and Syria earlier this week.
Days later, thousands more are nursing their injuries in hospital.
Authorities in Mogadishu now report that the fate of dozens of Somalis working, studying, and living in Turkey remain unknown.
In Turkey alone, over 6,234 deaths have been reported.
Jama Abdullahi Eydid, the Somali Ambassador to Turkey, said that dozens of his fellow countrymen and women are missing.
“We have received reports that several of the 52 Somali students in Turkey are missing,” Ambassador Eydid stated.
He added that they had found 10 of the students so far.
