Tension has rocked Somalia after the Secretary of the House of the People (Lower House) was kicked out of an important parliamentary function on April 26.
The Lower House Secretary was issuing ID cards to newly elected legislators from Jubbaland when he was kicked out of the function.
Lower House had organized a function designed to enable the 16 Members of Parliament (MPs) from Jubbaland to take their oath of office.
As the function proceeded, officials from Villa Hargeisa ordered the official to leave immediately.
This comes as parliament is expected to elect its Speaker and Deputy Speakers within the next few days.
The ejection of the Secretary could derail the swearing-in of the legislators.
Eventually, this could have an impact on the scheduled election of the parliamentary speaker and his deputies.
