Tension has gripped Somaliland and Puntland alike as they sent their respective troops to gather along the disputed border.
Troops from the two regions have been moving toward the border for much of this week.
On Monday, reports from the region indicated that forces from Somaliland and Puntland were seen moving towards Togdheer, the contested border area.
Somaliland troops, which were in their hundreds, were seen in Buhodle town, Togdheer.
They seized villages that have been under the control of Puntland for quite some time.
The fact that Somaliland troops had already captured the nearby town of Bo’ame also sparked anger back in Puntland.
Residents along the disputed border are likely to flee to safer grounds to escape the inevitable conflict.
