Terrorists have assassinated a District Commissioner (DC) from Lower Shabelle.
DC Abdullahi Ali Wafow was killed on Wednesday, July 27 in an incident that left residents and local authorities shocked.
Wafow is the DC of Marka, which is the provincial capital of the Lower Shabelle region.
Security officials confirmed that he died in an explosion that rocked the town.
According to sources, DC Wafow had led the fight against Al-Shabaab and other terrorist groups in Lower Shabelle for years.
Reports indicate that he was killed together with 10 other people.
Al-Shabaab has already claimed responsibility for the deadly explosion.
