The Somali National Army has conducted an operation in the Lower Shabelle region.

LOWER SHABELLE — The Somali National Army (SNA), closely supported by armed local community forces, conducted a highly successful, targeted military operation today in the rural villages of Bulo Nagey and Busley Da’ud within the Lower Shabelle region.

Neutralizing the Kharijite Threat

According to official military sources, the joint operation successfully neutralized 9 armed militants belonging to the Kharijite militia—the federal government’s official designation for the Al-Shabaab terror group. Security officials noted that these specific militants had been actively harassing and harming local civilian residents in the area prior to the offensive.

The tactical success in Bulo Nagey and Busley Da’ud directly mirrors recent clearance operations systematically dismantling Kharijite networks in neighboring regions, highlighting a broader, nationwide strategy to uproot militant strongholds.

A Continued Commitment to Liberation

Military commanders on the ground confirmed that the Somali National Army and allied local defense forces are relentlessly continuing their joint efforts to permanently eradicate Kharijite elements from the region.

The Ministry of Defense reaffirmed the military’s unwavering commitment to defending the Somali public, stabilizing rural territories, and fully liberating all remaining areas where terrorist groups are still attempting to seek refuge.
