Thousands of Mogadishu residents held a rally to show their support for the defense and economic cooperation agreement that Somalia signed with Turkey a few days ago.
The residents gathered at the Engineer Yarow Stadium in Mogadishu on Saturday.
They carried banners in support of the 10-year deal that the two brotherly nations signed this month.
This week, the federal parliament joined the cabinet in approving the agreement between Somalia and Turkey.
Mayor Yusuf Hussein Jim’ale of Mogadishu was at the rally.
He was in the company of ministers, lawmakers, and top security officers in calling for increased support for the Somalia-Turkey pact by the public.
