Three members of the Al-Shabaab group were killed while four were injured along Somalia’s border with Kenya on Thursday.
Security officers from Kenya confirmed the incident on Friday.
They said that the extremists were killed as they attempted to assemble an Improvised Explosive Device (IED).
Rono Bunei, the Regional Police Commander, said that the militants were assembling a bomb, which exploded and killed three of them on the spot.
Bunei stated that the militants were planning to carry out an attack in Garissa.
