Danab Special Forces, a Somali National Army (SNA) unit comprising US-trained soldiers, have killed three members of the Al-Shabaab group.
The soldiers killed the three militants in El-Gellow, Middle Shabelle on Sunday.
Commander Osman Abdimalik Malim of the Danab Special Forces confirmed this during an interview with the military radio.
He said the soldiers found the three militants planting Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) along a road in the region.
Commander Malim told the military radio that the operation by Danab forces would continue until militants in the region are vanquished.
The latest operation took place less than four days after security forces in the country killed 10 Al-Shabaab fighters in Bosaso town, Bari region.
