A three-day training course on neonatal resuscitation has kicked off in Kismayo.
The Ministry of Health facilitates the training. It has deployed its personnel to the Jubaland capital to train local health officers on neonatal resuscitation.
The ministry’s Director of Family Health Department – Dr. Ubah Farah Ahmed – is in charge of leading the course.
Representatives from the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Somalia are also present at the training.
Participants attending the course receive training to help them provide emergency procedures for babies who struggle to breathe or have weak heartbeats at birth.
