Three People Die of Hunger in Soutwest State

Three people succumbed to the pangs of hunger in the regional state of Southwest on Monday.

Authorities in the region confirmed that the three Somalis died in Diinsoor town.

Currently, various parts of Somalia are facing one of the country’s worst droughts in 40 years.

International organizations and the federal government have repeatedly called for urgent humanitarian assistance to prevent a catastrophic disaster.

More than 4.1 million people in Somalia are at risk of starvation and disease.

Failed rains in three consecutive seasons have led to this situation.
