Top NISA Official Guilty of Financing and Sharing Crucial Intelligence Information with Al-Shabaab

Reports from two Kenya media outlets have shown that a NISA official named Abdullahi Kulane has been financing and sharing crucial intelligence information with Al-Shabaab.

Further, the media outlets have published damaging information showing a cheque signed by Kulane to the tune of $1.5 million allegedly to the Al-Qaeda linked militia.

It also accuses Kulane of providing the extremist group with vital details regarding Kenya Defense Forces’ movements in the region.

Kulane is a senior NISA agent. Consequently, his alleged involvement with a terrorist organization that has wrecked havoc in the Horn of Africa region is not a light matter.

According to multiple sources, NISA initiated the deployment of Somalia National Army (SNA) troops to Mandera to suck Kenya into the country’s internal affairs.

Kenya’s coastal strip and the northeastern region have suffered more than 18 sporadic attacks conducted by Al-Shabaab. The attacks have killed around 22 people.

One of the most daring attacks this year was on January 5 when Al-Shabaab raided Manda Airfield, which the United States military uses as its base.
