A top Somali military commander was killed on Sunday while taking part in a counterterrorism operation in Caad village.
Maj. Abdi Mohamed Sheikh Hassan Sulnug died when the Somali National Army (SNA) troops were caught up in a fierce gunfire in Caad, a village in the regional state of Galmudug.
Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre joined the rest of the country in mourning the death of one of the country’s most valiant soldiers.
The Prime Minister relayed his condolences to the family and friends of the deceased military commander.
In his message of condolences, the Prime Minister stated that Maj. Sulnug had paid the ultimate price in defending his people and country from terrorists.
