The chairperson of the Transitional Puntland Electoral Commission (TPEC) has confirmed the closure of the voter registration exercise.
Abdirisak A. Said, the TPEC chair, expressed gratitude to political parties in Puntland for taking part in the voter registration exercise.
Further, he commended the role that security officers, media organizations, traditional elders, and the international community played in the exercise.
The voter registration exercise ended on March 16.
Speaker Abdirashid Yusuf Jibril of the Puntland Parliament also took part in the last day of the voter registration exercise.
