The Transitional Puntland Electoral Commission (TPEC) submitted a list of all elected councilors to the Minister of Defense.
Abdirisak A. Said, the Chairperson of TPEC, recently submitted the list to Farah Juxa.
He was in the company of other TPEC officials when submitting the names of the councilors elected in the most recent local government elections in Puntland.
The ball now moves to the court of Juxa, the interior minister.
His ministry will be responsible for holding the first meeting of the elected local councilors. Afterward, the councilors would elect a mayor and deputy mayor from their midst.
Juxa and his team would supervise the election of the mayor and the deputy mayor.
